Doctorate

There are two ways someone can undertake doctoral research in the UoI Department of Materials Science and Engineering:

Directly to the Department
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering directly admits postgraduate students who wish to undertake doctoral research (without the involvement of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Programme). The selection of postgraduate students to be admitted is decided by the Department’s General Assembly, in Special Composition, according to the provisions of Law 2083/92, article 14.

Through the Postgraduate Programme
Upon successful completion of the Postgraduate Course and the award of a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Materials Chemistry and Engineering, this Postgraduate Programme provides its graduates the opportunity to conduct doctoral research.
